Features & Applications

The XTENDEX™ KVM Extender allows one keyboard, monitor and mouse to be placed up to 305 meters from a computer or an NTI KVM switch using CAT5 UTP cable. The extender consists of a Local Unit connected to a computer, server or NTI switch and a Remote Unit connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse or the input of an NTI KVM switch. The Local and Remote units are interconnected with CAT5 cable.
  • Supports two users: one local and one remote.
  • Local unit provides local KVM access.
  • Compatible with NTI switches.
  • Keep-alive keyboard/mouse emulation for flawless operation.

  • Supports PC and SUN.
  • Male 15-pin HD connector for host computer.
  • Female 8-pin miniDIN connector for keyboard and mouse.
  • Female 15-pin HD connector for local VGA monitor.
  • Supports Separate and Composite TTL level sync and Sync on Green.

Power

  • 110 or 220 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz via AC adapter.

Video Quality Adjustment

  • Automatically adjusts the video quality to compensate for varying lengths of CAT5 cable.

Warning!

  • The ST-C5KVM is not designed to be connected to an Ethernet card, Ethernet router, hub or switch or other Ethernet RJ45 connector of an Ethernet device. Damage to devices connected to the Ethernet may result.

Remote Unit

  • Female 15-pin HD connector.
  • Crisp and clear 1024x768 resolution at 305 meters; higher resolution supported at shorter distances.
  • Female 8-pin miniDIN connector for keyboard and mouse.
  • Supports PS/2 and Sun devices.
    • Keyboard and mouse must be of the same platform.
  • Compatible with all standard 2-button PS/2 mice as well as the following:
    • Alps Glidepoint Touchpad.
    • Cirque Glidepoint Touchpad.
    • IBM Scroll Point mouse.
    • Kensington Orbit Trackball.
    • Logitech (and other) 3-button mice.
    • Logitech 2-button Wheel Mouse.
    • Microsoft Ballpoint mouse.
    • Microsoft IntelliMouse®.
  • SUN 3-button mice are supported.
